COVID-19 Contingency Response
The health, safety, and well-being of our volunteers, guests, and staff is of top priority. Our Daily Bread exists to feed our hungry neighbors. It is in disasters like this that our under-served neighbors are exposed to greater vulnerability—whether it is access to food, health care, childcare, sick leave, etc. The balance of keeping our volunteers, guests, and staff healthy and at the same time providing food to our neighbors who are left even more at risk of hunger due to the crisis at hand is not one that we take lightly.
As of March 31, 2020, pre-packed boxes of food will be handed out in a drive-thru approach, which will unfortunately remove the guest-choice aspect of our normal operations. Normal shopping sessions will temporarily stop, and boxes will be the sole way of food distribution until the risk of infection has passed. Guests will be asked to stay in their cars, while volunteers load the food into the vehicles. If you do not have a vehicle, you can walk up to get groceries.
In order to still serve our guests and limit spread of the virus, our hours of distribution will be as follows:
Every 3rd Sat. of the Month: 9am-12 pm
In light of the recent events, we need help packaging boxes and delivering boxes in the drive-thru approach. We want to limit the spread of the virus, while we continue to feed our hungry neighbors, so we will limit the number of healthy volunteers to 15 per serving session. If you are willing and able to help, please fill out the form below. Thank you for coming together and loving our community, even when it's hardest.
All decisions regarding our response to the pandemic will be made by ODB leadership doing our best to look out for the safety of our entire community. We appreciate your patience during this incredibly difficult time. Please follow our Facebook page @OurDailyBreadStillwater for updates.
